Very well made! Lacquer finish is smooth. Copper band on tip a nice touch for protecting the wood. Placed a rubber tip on mine for walking on the street. The stick is very very strong, a nice thickness and weight. The thorns have been clipped with short nubs left in places and smooth roughly halfway up for a mid grip location if desired. An effective walking, hiking and even defensive stick if needed! Will last forever!

These shirts are the one constant wardrobe staple in my life. I think I may be onto my fourth, so far. They are beautiful and casual and so well-made. I wear these shirts practically every day; whether as a quick pyjama top, or under a cozy sweater, or with a pair of jeans . These are the finest pair of pyjamas that one can own. The flannel has a rich texture and is well able to keep one comfortable and warm on the coldest night. Besides this comfort and warmth, the Blackwatch pattern also gives the pyjamas a lovely understated (yet sophisticated) and warm appearance. This is a great Shirt. Great quality. Great looks. Generous fit (I'm somewhere between S and M with approx. 80% fitting in M, but this shirt fits perfectly in S). At a body length of 170cm the sleeve length in size S is just perfect, other brands tend to be a bit long.) I had one of these shirts years ago. It lasted for over ten years and was amazed to find out that it is still available. Gonna order a second one.

We originally ordered the robe in size XL, which is what he usually wears, but it was way too big. So we had to exchange it, but this time for two sizes smaller (size M) and now it fits him perfectly (with even room for a little extra belly!). And the texture and color are really great.

I bought one 20 years ago, and it is still wonderful. One of my daughters loves it so much and reminds me every time that she visits that someday when I am gone that she wants to inherit the robe. This Christmas I surprised her by giving her mine. My husband insisted on replacing mine with the same, but the quality is not the same. The material is not as heavy and the the material inside hangs out. Maybe I can sew it.

The fleece shirt was given to my son this afternoon. It was his Christmas present. He was delighted at the colour, since he already has the red tartan pyjamas. My package was shipped to our second home address so I would be able to surprise my partner on Christmas Eve. When I opened the package and tried on my pair I found that I had ordered the wrong size they were too small . I called Ray and he found me a solution. The gray slippers were no longer in stock but they did have gray in the correct size. I shipped the original slippers back which was pricey, emailed Ray the tracking number and on December 23 the new slippers arrive. Making our quiet Christmas Eve a home a cozy one!"

I really do love this jacket. I did not realize it was insulated as it is, so it is not only stylish, light weight but perfectly suited for the damp and cool New Brunswick weather here in Canada's Maritimes.I have a tiny issue with the zipper- some times it gets a bit snagged in the stitch, but never too dramatically. I get many compliments on it and it ""feels"" good to wear;; hangs well on the shoulders and has a good enclosure about the neck so as to keep drafts out. At regular price, it is a very good deal for what you receive, but on sale, it is even better value. The chocolate colour is particularly nice."

"The Grandfather Shirt Men's Flannel Grey Stripe (LV37) was the first grandfather shirt I picked up from Lee Valley. It's a king! I absolutely love this shirt. It has a softer cotton than the Dark Blue/Cream Stripe shirt for sure, so if you are a fan for the soft, this is it. This was my favorite shirt for 4 years until I started digging the Dark Blue/Cream one, but a nice in between is their Single Green Stripe as that one has a lighter stripe. The Blue Ivory Stripe shirt has the same softness as this Grey Stripe shirt but the Grey Stripe pattern wins for the best looking grandfather shirt ever offered from Lee Valley. As I've said before on a previous review for this shirt, they can bury me in the grey stripe. I love it."

"The Grandfather Shirt Men's Flannel Dark Blue/Cream Stripe (LVC) is simply fabulous. The fabric is not quite denim in it's texture but is close, so this shirt is rigid and sturdy for daily working, just the way it should be. I'm 5' 10"" tall and the XL size length for this shirt is long (preferred - it's why I have several). It is a perfect shirt. I have a variety of the grandfather shirts as well - most other models are the softer flannel cotton. The Grandfather Shirt Men's Flannel Grey Stripe (LV37) was the first grandfather shirt I picked up from Lee Valley. It's a king! I absolutely love this shirt. It has a softer cotton than the Dark Blue/Cream Stripe shirt for sure, so if you are a fan for the soft, this is it. This was my favorite shirt for 4 years until I started digging the Dark Blue/Cream one, but a nice in between is their Single Green Stripe as that one has a lighter stripe. The Blue Ivory Stripe shirt has the same softness as this Grey Stripe shirt but the Grey Stripe pattern wins for the best looking grandfather shirt ever offered from Lee Valley. As I've said before on a previous review for this shirt, they can bury me in the grey stripe. I love it."

I usually wear a beanie during Tasmania's chilly winters, with more dressy ones for going out, but after receiving my blue and grey flat cap I now prefer it when I venture into town. The wool material plus the quilted lining makes the cap toasty, and looks more classy than a beanie. I close a charcoal with blue strip design because I often wear denim. Probably not the classic style to go with the heritage of an Irish flat cap, but I'm happy with the look. The sizing was of moderate concern. I checked my Australian-made leather bush hats before ordering and they are ""L"", but in this country that equates to around 59cm. The Lee Valley product in ""L"" comes in at 60cm, but the fit was perfect. The cap is very nicely made, and it's made clear both in the item description and its packaging that the caps are made in Ireland. This is my fifth pair of wool socks. Northeast Ohio is known as the winter snow belt these socks beat sitting around in slippers. I keep two pairs for in the house and three pair for outside use with boots. I wash them as directions suggest and they haven’t shrunk or lost shape. I feel they are worth the money.

"I love my flannel robe. Been looking for quite a while for something that has truly long sleeves and full length so was very pleased when I saw this one online. I am 5’7” and it falls close to my ankles which is just perfect. I ordered a 2X according to the sizing chart but could have gotten away with a 1X. Not a problem though. Still fits fine. The robe is a nice weight, perfect for our spring and fall weather. It will probably be ok for winter as well but if not, I have a heavier robe for our freezing cold Canadian winters. I washed it in cold water and hung to dry. There were some wrinkles so I ironed it but that's just being fussy and wanting it to look nice. Delivery was timely and thought it might take longer, so was very pleased when it arrived quickly. All in all it's a great purchase and would highly recommend this cosy robe. Funny story….I am always hesitant to buy something online from another country as you hear such horror stories about quality, etc. When I saw the name Lee Valley, I thought it was a subsidiary of a company here in Canada called Lee Valley Tools which sells good quality tools and household items. Bought similar one in a shop in Oxford a year ago and that's been a good jumper but it cost about £20 more than buying direct. Also the returns deal looks good although I haven't needed to use it yet but I'll keep the label for a couple of decades just in case. It means I can buy in confidence knowing I can change it if it is wrong size or I don't like the shade of green or something. But I do like it so you are not getting it back. PS everything is expensive and overpriced in Oxford so please don't think about putting up your prices to match them !

"Bought one on vacation 14 years ago when the jacket I had with me proved unfit for Irish rain. Used it as my ""daily driver"" for those 14 years. Finally after all this time it wasn't really looking good anymore but it still worked fine. But then the thing dangling from the zipper broke - the rest was a bit worn down but still fully functional. So I ordered a new one for the next 14 years. And they changed the model. They changed the thing that dangles from the zipper - the rest feels unchanged! It used to be round, now it's a straight thing. (Not a native speaker, no idea what the thing you grab to pull the zipper is called.)"

I am tall so the length is perfect. I am also narrow/thin so it is a bit like wearing a xxxl. I do not care about that much though. My only preference is the elimination of the elasticized cuff as it is awkward to fold back.

Bought my first Lee Valley shirts in 2005 at a little shop at the top of Healey Pass on border between Cork and Kerry. Worn daily for several years and then a button fell off. A few more years and a small hole in the elbow appeared. I considered asking for a refund but instead bought a couple more and now 17 years later the original shirt is in the cats bed keeping him warm and no more buttons have fallen off. Seriously good shirts and value.

"This sweater is fantastic. It’s a high quality wool, sized perfectly (a bit on the larger side to be honest but a sweater like this ought to have some room so that’s good). I love the Donegal wool with the colorful flecks in it, this sweater will go with anything. The shade of grey is on the warm amber side of grey, and it’s dark enough to be flattering on a guy with a belly. The zipper and the weight of the wool knit are well matched; the zipper doesn’t feel too heavy out too small; lots of half zip sweaters get this balance wrong but here it’s perfect. Great for outdoor adventures, I wore it to an outdoor concert on a cold rainy evening and even after being out in a drizzle for a couple hours the sweater was still warm and comfortable. The rain didn’t bead (like it might on a really oily wool) but it still stayed near the outside. I wore it again the next day and it hadn’t lost any shape. Really high quality, made in Ireland, I expect it to last many years, as has my other sweater I purchased years ago from this same company. "
