At the Heart of the Community

Since we started our business back in 1986, Lee Valley Ireland has been heavily involved in the sponsorship and support of our local community.

We are proud to sponsor our local GAA team Uibh Laoire (Iveleary). In rural areas, we are quite passionate about our local sports and it is always with a sense of pride we watch them play. In 2020 Uibh Laoire GAA won the Mid Cork Junior A Football Championship. We look forward to watching our local team as they grow from strength to strength.

Sponsorship of local sports clubs and societies

We are delighted to sponsor our local angling community at T.A.F.I (Trout Anglers Federation of Ireland) with a supply of Lee Valley Ireland outdoor wear.

We are proud sponsors of Ballingeary GAA Club, Macroom Golf Club, and Glengarriff Golf Club - these clubs are based in West Cork and Mid Cork, Ireland.

In October 2022, we were privileged to sponsor Mr Anthony Cronin from Ballingeary, he fought for the Irish Kickboxing Team in the World Championships in Italy.

In the recent past, Lee Valley Ireland has sponsored the Ballingeary Pipe Band - in 2019 the Ballingeary Pipe Band celebrated the 90th anniversary of its founding - in the Gaeltacht (primarily Irish speaking) village of Béal Átha'n Ghaorthaidh (Ballingeary).

Investment in local infrastructure

We are heavily involved with the Cork County Council regarding the development of infrastructure such as footpaths, in the West Cork villages of Ballingeary and Inchigeela.

Chernobyl

The Greater Chernobyl Cause

For over 30 years, we have proudly made annual charitable donations to the Irish-based charity The Greater Chernobyl Cause.  We believe strongly in giving back and supporting those who are vulnerable and in need.

We are so fortunate to support Fiona Corcoran's charity, we donate jackets, warm flannel pyjamas, flannel shirts, and aran knitwear.

Find out more about our donations to Chernobyl in our previous Blog Post Here
