The collarless Irish Grandfather Shirt, with its unique and traditional styling is forever linked with Ireland’s past and continues to be a popular wardrobe staple to this day. Historically the grandad collar shirt was very popular in Ireland. When working in the fields of the Lee Valley in West Cork, the traditional farmer favoured this collarless shirt as it was warm. He had little use for neck ties while he was working the land, and this no collar button up shirt proved a comfortable alternative.
